Mladen Barešić

Behaviorist & Co-Storyteller

To the Artivist’s team, Mladen is bringing his expertise and experience in human learning and development that evolved through his basic education in the field of Psychology and consequent professional maturation and growth in the sphere of international business’ Human Resources. Resourceful humans, as it would probably be more truthful to say. He broadened, deepened, and further intertwined these competencies in the area of software development, strengthening his understanding of user experience and of interaction between technology and human behavior and learning.

These experiences would not, however, be adequate nor perhaps sufficient if there was no life-long inclination towards artistic expressions of all kinds; from literature to film, from music to painting. In hindsight, his youthful affair with Architecture pointed to how his endeavors to reconcile mathematical exactness with artistic playfulness would keep unfolding throughout his life.

Being prone to see linkages and connections among many, not to say, all things, Mladen is always inspired by a sense of being a part of something larger than himself. And this sense is exactly what’s embedded in the Artivist’s mission.

Artwork that inspires me

“’ A child could paint something like this!’ – a statement that could always amaze and bewilder me. How come we missed the point when good visual arts seized being a perfection game of perspective building and a demonstration of hand-eye coordination?! Can’t we sense that, not so rarely, there needs to be more beyond our current understanding and be provoked to search for these wrapped and hidden meanings? To join the fun and excitement of exploring the viewpoints of others and revealing our own? To unravel the past times and understand the present more profoundly? Just… to let go, and see what happens.”

El Lissitzky, Beat the Whites with the Red Wedge, 1919.
